Specifically, it enumerates the following goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing technologies to improve nuclear safety and security.<\/li>\n<li>Developing technologies for the treatment and disposal of radioactive waste stemming from spent fuel and reactor decommissioning, among others.<\/li>\n<li>Developing technologies for decommissioning nuclear facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Strictly and appropriately implementing regulations related to nuclear facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The strategy also includes two future aims, to be met by 2020, that are related to nuclear power:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Utilizing nuclear power for those plants confirmed to be in conformance to new regulatory standards, with top priority placed on safety.<\/li>\n<li>Using remotely-controlled robots and other equipment that can contribute to the removal of fuel debris from the Fukushima Daiichi NPPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As for science and technology innovation in nuclear power, it says that various efforts will be made in line with the Strategic Energy Plan.
