{"id":1367,"date":"2015-08-06T14:10:22","date_gmt":"2015-08-06T05:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/en\/?p=1367"},"modified":"2015-08-11T18:08:35","modified_gmt":"2015-08-11T09:08:35","slug":"nra-approves-operation-of-sendai-1-beyond-30-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/en\/news\/1367","title":{"rendered":"NRA Approves Operation of Sendai-1 Beyond 30 Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/en-renew\/npps\/sendai-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sendai-1<\/a> entered its 31st year of commercial service in July and, under the Reactor Regulation Law, any NPP in operation for more than 30 years is required to renew its long-term policy on maintenance and management for the next ten years.<\/p>\n<p>The Reactor Regulation Law, however, provides that an operator may operate upon acceptance by the NRA of an application for revisions to it operational safety program, which includes a long-term policy on maintenance and management, while not requiring the approval itself. Kyushu Electric Power submitted an application in December 2013.
