{"id":7339,"date":"2025-01-16T16:06:29","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T07:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/en\/?p=7339"},"modified":"2025-01-17T13:46:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T04:46:53","slug":"meti-minister-muto-emphasizes-japans-gx-activities-in-new-year-remarks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jaif.or.jp\/en\/news\/7339","title":{"rendered":"METI Minister Muto Emphasizes Japan\u2019s GX Activities in New Year Remarks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First, referring to prospects for the Japanese economy in 2025, he explained his view that consumption would \u201cincrease if wage rates rise more than prices increase,\u201d and that the economy would \u201cgrow slowly if domestic corporate investments remain steady.\u201d He went on to emphasize that \u201cestablishing a virtuous cycle for the economy\u201d was a vitally important issue for METI.<\/p>\n<p>Turning his attention to activities for green transformation (GX), the METI Minister stated that he would aim at \u201csubstantiating courses of actions, one by one, for the maximum use of both renewable energies and nuclear energy, so that decarbonization power sources might trigger the formation of new industrial clusters and synergies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In December 2024, drafts were finalized of both the new Strategic Energy Plan (Japan\u2019s national energy policy)\u2014the deliberations for which had begun by the government last summer\u2014and a plan for measures against climate change.
