The organization is the duly authorized juridical entity established in October. It also commissioned JNFL to receive and manage storage of high-level radioactive waste (HLW) to be returned from France. The organization plans also to entrust production of MOX fuel to JNFL prior to the first half of fiscal 2019, when JNFL’s MOX Fuel Fabrication Plant (J-MOX) will be completed.

In a comment, JNFL President Kenji Kudo said: “The company will continue to ensure safety and do its utmost toward establishing the nuclear fuel cycle business.”
